Thank you for sharing; remarkable people like Charles deserve to be known by many. I'm mad too at the ways systems failed him.

The experience of reading in 2020 the book Together: The Healing Power of Human Connection in a Sometimes Lonely World by Vivek Murthy (the 19th and 21st surgeon general of the United States) helped underline for me the deep seriousness of the health crisis, as well as the big and small opportunities we all have to create more meaningful connections with the humans all around us.

When we form relationships with good people, as you have, and we learn their stories, and we learn to live out loud with the emotions without being submerged by them, then it becomes like a lifeforce, an engine of inspiration. Charles was someone who inspired others with his life, and your work helping others tell their stories and now connecting dots for others about the serious work of community building... it's a force for good. Thank you for living this way!
